More Intermixture of Real and Virtual

Definitely news from the future in this one. Gaming site Kotaku reports on another sign of the blending of real and virtual that we previously reported on regarding the game Second Life. But this one takes place in a first person shooter!

“The “talk show in game space” takes place inside an open multiplayer game of Halo 2. As Damian Lacedaemion interviews his guests he takes out the occasional intruding, and clueless players when they show up and start shooting at them.”

To my mind, this kind of event demonstrates that, as more and more people grow up with electronic worlds as part of their daily experience, those worlds will grow more complex, with more and more of the social artifacts of “real life”. (Thanks to Brian Jepson for the link.)
