One of the Where 2.0 speakers was Josh Knauer from Maya talking about Information Commons, a public information system built on a distributed database. Josh’s powerpoint slides are here (also see PDF and notes). The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review wrote a piece on the InfoCommons that’s a good intro to the project.
