Tim Profiled in Wired
by Nat Torkington | @gnat | comments: 1
The latest Wired has a profile of Tim by Stephen Levy. Stephen's the author of Hackers, Insanely Great, and other classics. He did a great job of describing Tim, to the point where I (who have walked among the bookcases and traded quotes with Tim) learned something. The first I heard of the profile was when my brother-in-law IM'd me about it, saying: "wow, Tim's a real hippy!". I immediately knew it was an accurate portrayal :-)

- Neil Alers on Tim Profiled in Wired: Hi nat, I came to this ...

Hi nat,
I came to this site seeking dialog with people at O'Rielly regarding Tim's 3-word summary concluding that profile in Wired. I recently dissolved my partnership, ULIAT (see www.Uliat.com) and founded a new organization, ULIACT. Now I seek a Systems Engineer who understands what "Harnessing collective- intelligence" means and can work with a team, to help make it happen, following my architecture - I'm more of a creative type than an engineer, tho I do have an MS CIS and have hacked a bit in my time.
ULIACT has a long-standing and well developed vision - similar to what I hear Tim implying in his 3-worder - business plans and top people are associated with us, including the express interest of major Venture Capitalists. But our former Senior Engineer, Roger, did not quite "get it" and we would present much better as a team with an appropriate man or woman in Roger's place: we need someone who can understand East-West synergy in metaphysical terms. Please see our Vision Statement and supporting articles, esp. linked to Sun Yu-li, including bios from two years ago at www.Uliat.com and let me know if you or an associate of yours would recommend a Systems Engineer to me, one capable of building from plans for a new type of computer system eventually to include hardware and devices as well as interface and core software logics. Yes, this is a long-term project... some of our algorithms have been demonstrated in software that's been on the market for 25 years, others prototyped and tested, and others way out there that we want prototyped ASAP. ULIACT deliverables will provide positive change opportunities across the industry. Boston, New York City, Albany locations are preferred, though I did run an LLC from Santa Fe in the late 1990s, about a third as a virtual organization... and ULIAT operated entirely in virtual space.
Thanks in advance,
