Pardon this bit of unabashed fan-boy geeky-ness, but I wish I was at Cornell this Fall. I would love to take Jon Kleinberg’s new course “The Structure of Information Networks“. (Why can’t Cornell do an MIT and put this video online?)
This is a hot area, which is one admitted attraction, and one in which Kleinberg is a star, which is another attraction, but there are so many interesting applications of information networks in finance and elsewhere.
Holy cow! I’m with Paul. I’d love to sit in on this class. But just looking at the syllabus (link from the course title in Paul’s quote above) will give you many hours (maybe days or weeks) of reading and exploration on your own!
