BarCampBank in San Francisco & New England
BarCampBanks are a series of unconference events dedicated to "fostering innovation and the creation of new business models in banking and finance". Ben Black and I organized the first BarCampBank in the US last year, and it was an incredible experience. (See: BarCampBankSeattle recaps from NetBanker, CurrencyMarketing, Gene Blishen, William Azaroff, and many others.)
I highly recommend attending if you have the opportunity. Updated: BarCampBank Dallas was just announced "sometime in June" too! |

Hi Jesse! Great that you've posted links to both of these. You must be a proud papa to have started a trend! (and there is talk of a BarCampBank Dallas in June). Are you yourself going to be attending BarCampBank SF?

Thanks Morriss,
It's really Frederic Baud that got everything started.
I'm hoping attend BarCampBank SF, but my schedule has been ugly lately. I'll now next month.

Is there a comprehensive list of dates and locations for barcamps somewhere?

Yes! http://www.barcamp.org/

Hi Jesse,
Sure Frederic Baud was instrumental in starting the idea in France, but you were the first to bring it to North America! Props to you! BTW, there is now a page for BarCampBank Charlotte, date TBD, sometime in the second half of this year.
