Superchick
If someone asks me my secret dream, it's not to run a marathon, meet someone famous (though if you're reading this, Neil Gaiman, I have a Foo Camp invite with your name on it), nor climb a very tall mountain. It's to write a novel. I lack the stamina to run marathons, climb mountains, and finish a novel (despite nanowrimo). But I'm glad to say that Stephen Martin had the stamina to write Superchick.
Y'see, Stephen was once a Dilbertesque IT wage slave like you and me. He tells me he even used my book. He, however, lived his dream and has a book to show for it. A hilarious book. I like comedy, and this is the top shelf. He's a brilliant dialogue writer who manages to make an interesting story and lovable characters while cracking you up from page to page. I'm now recommending this to everyone I know (and those blog readers I don't--hi, nice to meet you).
So order a copy (from the publisher or from Amazon UK) and support a nerd with the talent to realize his dream. My new dream, by the way, is to have him write a second novel.
