Wil Shipley (of Omni* fame)'s Talk at WWDC
Sara Winge, our VP of Corporate Communications, sent our Macintosh editors' mailing list the following pointer: "Pretty funny and interesting presentation, bent on inspiring students to write Mac software." I have to agree. Great rundown on the choices: developing for windows vs. developing for mac, working for the man, working for a company you like, or working for yourself. Also good basic startup advice for those who do decide to start their own company. Well worth the read -- a blog entry, pointing to the slides of Wil's talk to the student attendees at WWDC. (BTW, note to other companies with developer programs: Apple does a great job of recruiting and giving lots of love to students. Well worth emulating.)

While not Developer related - you're absolutely right about the student-love.
I bought my 17in Powerbook for $300 off through academic pricing - and the entire Production Suite [Final Cut Studio precursor] was only $500 for me - that's less than a third of the full retail value of all 3 programs.
I was feeling the love.
