Everything Old is New Again

Like everyone else who has been wowed by the video of Doug Engelbart's Mother of All Demos, I was blown away by the huge chunk of the future that Doug delivered in 1968. So imagine my delight when I saw the Hyperscope Project launching. Doug is working with Brad Neuberg and others to rebuild parts of that incredible system of Doug's oNLine System (NLS) on the web. There's a wiki as well as the usual mailing lists, and each week there's a meeting with the original NLS developers to sync and ensure that the recreation is faithful to the ideals of the original. What amazing fun this will be, and what a chance to learn! What other opportunities are there to study the works of and be taught by these masters?
