Google spreadsheet: limited beta?

Mike Loukides wrote in email: "Mike Hendrickson and I just discovered that, if you create a Google spreadsheet, and invite someone else (with a gmail account) to share the spreadsheet, the person you invite automatically gets into the Google spreadsheet 'limited beta.'"

I signed up for an invite with first my regular email, and then gmail account a few hours later. The gmail account invite came pretty much instantly. My normal email account took two additional days.

Werid huh?

I'd appreciate an invite if it wouldn't be too much trouble. Thanks

I got an account for my hotmail address almost instantly, by company email in a couple days and haven't received a gmail invite. also I wasn't able to get some contacts with gmail accounts to share my spreadsheets even. seems all a bit odd.

Google Spreadsheets and Writely have a major problem when it comes to live (real-time) non-synchrnoized concurrent editing. I got into the details on my blog of how that can easily lead to a mess.

Please santa, can I have an invite too ;)

Jaclyn [06.14.06 06:59 AM]

I believe this is the case with ALL beta services that allow sharing. I've given away numerous Writely invites and Google Spreadsheet invites via collaboration. And honestly, if you read either help document, the 'back door' entrance becomes quite visible.
