Makers at EuroOSCON
We've got another Make Fest at EuroOSCON on September 20th. I just got the final list of Makers from the two Make whip-crackers, Shawn and Katy:
- Ulla Maaria-Mutanen - craft projects, Maker Manifesto
- Ewan Spence - podcasting projects
- Paul Granjon -sexed (and other types) robots
- Fabienne Serriere - electronics and computer hacks
- Attila Csordas -- how to isolate stem cells from your baby's placenta, in a rent lab or at home
- Nadya Peek - tactile feedback suit, solder a fabric keyboard, stuffed robots (plush animals) and check various abilities with RFID
- Bre Pettis - MAKE video how-tos and various podcasts
- Mark Hoestra - master the stuff around you, various hardware hacks
- Johan Van den Brande -- small robots (nanosumo and others, small indoor RC planes
- Rene Grau -- PC espresso machine
- Ian Lesnet - hardware devices that collect data and push it to the web.
- Hans Krohn - homemade flight simulator
- Johanses Taelman - a simple two-handed VR user interface, a spherical robot, a sensor-musical instrument
- code31 - an open studio for research, development ,and discussion about techniques and methodologies in media art. It attempts to stimulate interchange between several artistic disciplines.

Related to Make I guess in that you need a grounding in the basic tools before you can advance to make anything bigger ...

Why Johnny Can't Code
... is an article about the lack of simple programming environments on the current generation of computers... and a worry that the future Makers will not have the grounding that the current generation of Boomers and Gen X kids had... programming simple programmes on their home computer.
