Live Search Box

I really like the new Live Search Box. It's a search box that can easily be added to any webpage and when it used it launches the search results in a small window while keeping the searcher on the page. Using their easy setup options you can configure it to search the web, search a list of sites, or search using a macro. As a siteower, an AJAX search windows that keeps your readers on the page is very appealing. I like the look and the lack of branding. I look forward to more verticals being added (ahem, maps!) and linkfromdomain: (Radar post) working for subdomains.

It is very similar in nature to Google AJAX Search API (Radar post) which supports multiple verticals and their new Customized Search Engine. I think we all know that their target is really the ubiquitous Google Search Box for siteowners, but without an AdSense competitor Live will have a difficult time getting people to switch.
