Future of Interactive ebooks

My colleague Michael Holdsworth, formerly of Cambridge University Press, UK, and now a special consultant to Ingram Digital, provided news of this marvelous video essay on a possible future interactive ebook scenario.

It incidentally serves as a realized rendering of an aspect of the work presented by Manolis Kelaidis at the Tools of Change conference. Interestingly, in this model, paper books are evidently remnants for product display, "legacy" reading, and linkage to e-stores for purchase or rental of interactive and enriched content.

The video is about nine minutes long, in French. However, the audio is less vital to understanding than the imagining itself. Fwiw, the 320x160 streamed better for me, but ymmv.
