Ignite Seattle 4 Schedule
Ignite is happening this Wednesday on 8/8. It’s a free geek event at the CHAC. Our contest Half-Baked Dotcom will begin at 6:30; the talks begin at 8:30. You can RSVP on Upcoming. Here are the final five talks.
- Scott Kennedy - Building Real Community Software Local activist Scott Kennedy shows off his homemade electronic bulletin board, and discusses how and why he built it. he also asks what he should do with his new software.
- George Conard (Grameen Foundation) - Mifos: Open Source Software for Microfinance The Grameen Foundation (started the Nobel Peace Prize winning Grameen Bank and Mohammed Yunus) is building an open source software platform for the global microfinance industry with an aim to help people get out of poverty. Project head and local Seattlite will discuss the difficulties of building this platform and what they’ve learned so far.

- HB Siegel (IMDB) - Werewolf Strategy - The ins and outs of the myth-oriented social bluffing game.
- Dan Shapiro (Ontela) - Ten valuable lessons you shouldn’t learn from your last job Common mistakes, oversights, and assumptions people from big companies make when going to startups, including: “If this process worked for the 500 developers in my last company, it’ll work for the 5 of us!” “Payroll comes twice a month.”

unfortunately there are some interesting conferences scheduled at the same time, why canĀ“t they plan it right???
