Machinima Mash

Via our friends at if:book, notice that the first machinima contest in Europe just took place at De Montfort University in Leicester 12-14 October 2007.

If:book highlights the winning video in the Experimental category, Cirque du Machinima: Cuckoo Clock, by Tom Jantol of Croatia. If:book notes how the increasing number of content creation tools could permit the expansion of different ways of creating perspectives on our world -- lowering the threshold toward artistic expression while simultaneously encouraging us toward new forms of critical analysis.

Take a look. Very neat.

Sorry but this short represents the usual "noise" in online video. There's nothing to it - no story, no character, no reason. I admit that technology is a great enabler. Unfortunately technology doesn't provide a "good" button to push either.
