Ignite NYC: 7/29 -- Submit a Talk

ignite nyc
As I announced yesterday the first Ignite NYC is going to happen 7/29 at M1-5. We are going to feature 16 speakers. Each speaker will get 20 slides that auto-advance after 15 seconds for a total of five-minutes. Ignite is free and open to the public -- you're on your own for drinks. We're also going to be joined by Ignite co-creator, Bre Pettis. Bre is going to lead us in a creative soldering contest. RSVP at Upcoming.

I am looking for speakers. If you have something geeky that you want to share in 20 slides, then please submit a talk. Some suggestions: don't submit a product demo, submit a how-to, something inspirational or some lessons learned. Submit by July 15th (earlier is better as selection is a rolling process) If you wish to sponsor (or pay for drink tickets) send me a ping. At present Tom Igoe, Charles Forman, Joel Johnson, Charlie O'Donnel, Audacia Ray and Jessica Bruder will be speaking.

If you've never seen an Ignite talk watch Noah Iliinsky's talk on data visualizations, Complex Diagrams: How to Make Lasagna Instead of Spaghetti. You can see more Ignite Seattle talks from February on YouTube.

If you are interested in doing your own Ignite -- like the recent ones in Portland and Paris and the upcoming Phoenix event- check out the Ignite community site and read the HowTo.
