Sarah Novotny

After educating herself as a physicist, Sarah found her technological muse at Amazon writing code to answer where is my book?" questions. She went on to found Blue Gecko, a firm specializing in remote administration and management of databases, with two partners she met in Amazon's systems and database operations groups. She is active in the open source community as co-chair of OSCON as well as running local meetups for MySQL, open source and general geeky socializing. For fun, Sarah, thinks about ways to involve more women in the technology community, and she raises foster kittens.
