Where 2.0: Yahoo! Mapping API

Tim slipped it into his talk: Yahoo Maps API released today. It's fundamentally different from Google Maps API. Yahoo's beginning by taking aim at the simplest possible hosted functionality. Google's aiming at more interactive embedded applications. But this, combined with Microsoft's slide that revealed they're planning a huge developer push around MSN Virtual Earth, means the race is on.
