Public Knowledge: 2005 IP3 Awards

Email from Art Brodsky at PublicKnowledge:

Public Knowledge today moved the date for nominations for the 2005 IP3 awards. We had originally asked for nominations by Aug. 15, 2005. That date has been changed so that the deadline for nominations is now Aug. 1, 2005. The change will accommodate the logistics for the awards event in September.

This is the second year the awards will be given. The awards honor achievement in the areas of Intellectual Property, Information Policy and Internet Protocol….

Nominations should be mailed to IP3nominees AT publicknowledge.org. To be valid, all nominations must contain your reason, however brief, for nominating the individual or organization and a means of contacting the nominee. We will accept anonymous nominations but ideally we’d like to contact the nominating parties in case we need further information. IP3 Award winners will be invited to attend September 29 awards ceremony at Washington, DC, at Public Knowledge’s expense….

Last year’s IP3 Award winners were Rep. Rick Boucher, (D-Va.), for his support of fair use and advancement of technology policy; Danger Mouse, creator of the Grey Album; and Brewster Kahle, founder of the Internet Archive.
